The old town of Lagos was virtually destroyed by an earthquake in 1755 so the town was rebuilt in the classic 18th Century style which it retains today. The streets are full of a variety of al fresco eateries. A daily fish market and gypsy kiosks along the Avenida add to the vibrant spirit. The town has a character unspoiled by high rise or rowdy crowds and is the perfect choice for a family holiday.
